In my early teens, I spent a few months in my parents’ bed, exhausted and too sick to go to school. I had Epstein-Barr virus, and I didn’t have the energy in those months to live a normal life. This was not an isolated incident: I had spent the first 12 years of my life on multiple courses of antibiotics a year for chronic strep throat. One year, I even had 10 courses of antibiotics. This left me depleted, with a gut that didn’t work properly and chronic anemia. I didn’t realize how unwell I was until I got better.
I’ve been there…
From patient to practitioner
The real shift in my health happened once I met Dr. Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo at the age of 20. She was a remarkable visionary in root cause and integrative medicine, and she became my mentor. What I witnessed working alongside her and through her mentorship changed the entire trajectory of my life. It was profoundly inspiring to see how she transcended individual health modalities to create real healing transformations with patients, and this became the foundation of everything I do today.
Three decades of clinical experience
For the past 30 years, I have worked with a multi-disciplinary root cause approach to support patients in restoring their health and wellness. I’m a US-trained and licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist (LAc), Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Certified Integrative Manual Therapist. I have developed my own unique method of combining Functional Medicine, East-Asian Medicine Principles, Dry Needling, Western Herbal Medicine, Integrative Manual Therapy, Nutritional Therapy, Lifestyle Medicine, and body-based somatic work for nervous system regulation.
I listen, empower, support, teach, and guide my patients through an integrative therapeutic process that addresses the physical, physiological, emotional, and energetic aspects of healing.
This is how I believe medicine and the path to wellness should be practiced, and I'm here to be your partner along the way.
Whole-person support
My philosophies are simple: I believe the key to restoring and maintaining health lies in discovering and treating root causes, not just managing symptoms. I don't believe in being limited to one modality or system, because I've learned that answers are more complete, long-lasting and profound when you address all aspects of a person.
My approach centers around systems thinking and treating the whole person across three key areas: patho-anatomy (physical body issues), patho-physiology (biochemical imbalances), and patho-energetics (emotional, nervous system and energetic patterns).
While I treat men, women and children, I'm especially passionate about working with women through all of their hormonal life stages—from fertility and pregnancy through perimenopause into menopause and beyond—as well as complex chronic and infectious conditions, autoimmune disorders, and digestive issues.
As a Canadian-American who is raising three children while living as an expat in Hong Kong and Singapore for over 28 years, I understand the real-world challenges of maintaining health while juggling family, career, perimenopause into a menopausal transition and life's constant demands. I am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, promoting one within my own family, and sharing my knowledge in integrative and functional medicine with my patients, community and friends.
Let’s work together so you can reach your highest health potential.
To your health,
Jenn
“My family and I have been seeing Jenn for seven years and she is the first person I look to when we need help with anything health related. I love her practical approach, her immense knowledge, and how she integrates functional biochemistry with hands-on manual therapy”
